Slumped in bizarre postures
Sore eyes , bloated brains 
With a cascade of to-do lists
Neatly presented on virtual calendars 
Hours translated into productivity 
productivity repackaged as worth 
worth translated to wealth
The deadly concept modernized 
with a fancy vocabulary: purpose  
Decades-long lives dedicated to purpose

Modern fashion
Also known as trendy, elegant
Drab, provocative pieces of clothing
Absurd fabrics sown together
fabrics labelled outfits 
Presented on awkwardly shaped beings 
awkwardly shaped beings labelled models 
Models polished with inorganic products 
Inorganic products labelled makeup 

Two concepts, one philosophy: illusion.
